What are the benefits of counselling?
Counselling offers benefits such as improved self-awareness and self-esteem, leading to better decision making and personal growth. It provides emotional support and a safe space to explore feelings, enhancing emotional regulation and resilience.
Counselling also helps develop communication skills, resolve conflicts, and manage stress, which can lead to healthier relationships and improved overall mental and physical well-being.
Will everything I say be confidential?
Yes, everything you say is treated confidentially, unless I was concerned that there was a risk to yourself or others. I am bound by the BACP ethical guidelines which can be found here. If this was the case, we would discuss the process in depth.
Who are BACP and what do they do?
The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) is a professional body for counsellors and psychotherapists practicing in the United Kingdom. It sets standards for therapeutic practice and provides information for therapists, clients of therapists and the general public.
How long will I need counselling for?
Every person’s situation is unique. Personal goals and the complexity of issues play a significant role in determining the duration of counselling. For some a few sessions might suffice, while others may need months or even years.
What do you charge for counselling?
